Yes America, we should hang this man! This fraudulent example of a once moral Main Street Capitalist America, from the highest yardarm! Obviously from the many vowels in his name he must be connected with the Mob, Mafia, Casa Nostra, The Black Hand, rulers of the underworld. So what if he decided in the end not to take the money. After all he did think about it. He “Attempted” and had the intention of trying to get away with $11.2 Million Dollars in TARP funds, so what is there to try or debate? GUILTY! The American way.
We now have one of our public “Scape Goats” what more do we want. You didn’t think for one minute they were going to pursue and arrest, or even inconvenience those who made off with the first $350 Billion Dollar bailout that was handed over just before President Obama took office. Who he himself declared to the nation soon after taking the oath of office that we had too many other crippling issues to deal with domestically to be chasing around the whereabouts of this literal evaporation of public tax money. This was no “Attempt.” It was a overwhelmingly successful endeavor!
Nor do we really want to prosecute those who still refuse to disclose the manner and direction of distribution of the latter half of the Stimulus and TARP Packages to the combined total of over $1.4 Trillion Dollars. With hundreds of Billions more waiting in the pipeline. We don’t seem to have a problem from the public perspective with these various firms and institutions handing out Millions and Billions of dollars in bonus money and fringe benefits at the tax payers expense. Mostly because this is a justifiable crime. One of a different colored collar.
We don’t need to audit the Federal Reserve Bank, or question Goldman Sachs, AIG, Fanny Mae or Freddy Mac. We have the evil doers in our grasp now. Mr. Antonucci, and Mr. Peralta. The equivalent of the Bowery Boys on the corner of the hood, pitching pennies against the curb. When compared to the Bank of America’s, the Citigroup’s and Wall Street type counterparts. Perhaps these “Pacifiers” will divert the public, leading them by the nose down a different path to Fairytale Fictions and distractions from the obviously apparent.
We will chase the street criminals like these men and Bernie Madoff whose $50 Billion Dollar Ponzi Scheme is still a minor infraction when compared to the amount of money that is still to this day missing and unaccounted for.
Yes ladies and gentleman, we have become a society not unlike that of the Ancient Romans. Eager for the entertainment value derived from the thrill of the kill. Nothing short of primitive “Blood Lust.” Unconcerned or mediated with logical facts and figures. We have, as a collective, digressed over the last 2,000 years. Or at least not progressed in any instance of sociological aptitude. We have become “The Mob.” An unorganized, uneducated, and willingly unaware coalition of incompetence and complacency. Convinced through the media that pruning the poison bush, will suffice to ignore its roots.
Labored and tired even cultivated fools begin to expire. Wondering why they have attained nothing, while some select others take another step farther.
