No, you don’t have to consult your nearest dictionary. Poestries is not a “Webster” word. I often make up my own words for personal use, and of course poetic license etc. It’s more-or-less a compound word for “Poetic-Stories.” I’m a firm believer that as long as your word has a definition, it doesn’t matter if it’s sanctioned or not.
I came across some work that didn’t exactly classify as poems, and I’m not really a short story writer. Regardless of the classification, it “Is what it is” as they say. Currently I only have several, so just go with it!
