The Name
How It All Began
In the 13th century there lived a man, poet, jurist, theologian, and mystic known as Jalal ad-Din Muhammad. Today he is referred to in the English-speaking world simply as Rumi. Although he left us with literally thousands of written works and words, the underlying themes to which speak of the importance of silence. In essence, to “Say Nothing.” In homage to him, and this ironic world we live in. Welcome to my Blog, I’m Numi.
“We must drown, away from heroism, and descriptions of heroism. Like a pure spirit lying down, pulling its body over it, like a bride her husband for a cover to keep her warm.
Someone who goes with half a loaf of bread to a small place that fits like a nest around him, someone who wants no more, who’s not himself longed for by anyone else,
He is a letter to everyone. You open it.
It says, LIVE.” – Rumi
